It's a whodunit: Which Real World cast member made off with a precious bottle of painkillers? Beyond that, another mystery looms: Do we need any painkillers to deal with the tension of tonight's Big Brother and Top Chef episodes? Potentially.
Big Brother [CBS, 8 PM]
Time for another Power of Veto competition, but more importantly, it's another chance for Lane and Britney to cut the flirtation and hook up. I don't care who's engaged. Legally, everyone on the show is "engaged" to the nation's sexual whims. Tie our knot, please.
Real World [MTV, 10 PM]
Ashlee's painkillers disappear, and everyone suspects that Knight has returned to his freewheelin' drug abuse. Alas, he's not the culprit. Horrid Ryan is a good candidate for the thievery, but I'm not counting out McKenzie, Sahar, or really any random crew member who has to deal with Ryan every day.
Top Chef [Bravo, 10 PM]
Six chefs remain, and tonight they're taking their culinary magic to the ballpark, commandeering two concession stands, and adding high-end snacks to the menu. Baseball players Adam Dunn, Matt Capps, and John Lannan make cameos.
Whip It [Cinemax, 10 PM]
Here's a grrrrrl-empowering flick about a young misfit (Ellen Page) who abandons her parents' strict anti-roller derby household for a life of roller derby. It's a traditional sports film, but villainous jammer Juliette Lewis gives an enjoyably punky performance.
