Yep, you read that right: There's a trailer for a commercial. But not just any commercial, mind you -- this is for Frank Miller's upcoming bit of ad wizardry for the new fragrance "Gucci Guilty." What can you expect when this thing premieres during the MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 12, besides that it'll automatically be better than The Spirit?
Typical Frank Miller stuff: black and white cityscapes, silhouettes, speeding cars, and only splashes of color. In other words, 30 seconds of "Gucci Guilty" is like a perfume commercial version of Sin City. Evan Rachel Wood stars as Scarlett Johannson Jessica Alba the glamorous femme who looks really sexy while undressing in slow motion (and also happened to return Miller's phone calls), that's the future Captain America, Chris Evans, as the object of her affection (who also looks sexy while undressing), and the music comes courtesy of Friendly Fires, which probably means something to some of you. Somewhere, Don Draper is taking a drag off a Lucky Strike and wondering why he didn't think of this campaign first.
VERDICT: Buy.
