Hollywood Ink: Kristen Bell is a Stage Mom

Also in this morning's Hollywood Ink: Rose Byrne checks into X-Men: First Class... many travel On the Road... and slightly more ahead.

· They grow up so fast. Just six years ago, Kristen Bell was high school gumshoe Veronica Mars; now, she's been cast as an overbearing stage mother in Dance of the Mirlitons. THR describes Mirlitons with the box-office-killing modifier of "indie ballet comedy," but comparisons to Little Miss Sunshine and Mean Girls are made within the story, so maybe it won't be so bad. There's also the fact that Seth Rogen's long-time partner Evan Goldberg Evan Greenberg wrote the script and will direct. Producers are looking for an unknown to play Bell's daughter, so if you're an overbearing stage mother yourself, get some headshots ready. [THR]

· Just how many people is Matthew Vaughn casting in X-Men: First Class? Actress -- and non-Verge alum -- Rose Byrne is negotiating to join the project as "Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and an authority on genetic mutation." Uh-huh. She's also positioned as a love interest for James McAvoy's junior Professor X. [THR]

· And wait! There's another bit of X-Men: First Class casting news as well: Jason Flemyng has been added as Nightcrawler's father. Fingers crossed that no one else gets added to the film before the end of this post. [Coming Soon]

· Speaking of overwhelming casts, check out Walter Salles adaptation of On the Road. The film -- which is currently shooting -- has brought Elisabeth Moss, Terrence Howard, Steve Buscemi, Alice Braga and Tom Sturridge into the fray. They join previously cast Sam Riley, Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Viggo Mortensen and Amy Adams. [Collider]

· Ving Rhames, Henry Simmons and Tom Felton will all star in From the Rough, an indie film about women's swim coach (the already announced Taraji P. Henson) at an African American university who gets a shot at rebuilding the men's golf team. [THR/Risky Business]
