· Without getting too far ahead ahead of ourselves, ZOMG Todd Phillips is going to make a biopic about John Belushi AHHHHHH [cough, sputter, choke, die]. At least that's all anyone's going to ask him about at the upcoming Due Date junket, despite there not being a script yet and Phillips only having so far committed to producing. Still, ZOMG everybody! Seth Rogen and Jack Black's agents are no doubt planning a duel at sunset just to clear a path to the material for their stars. The director with the Greatest Name in Hollywood has been linked to yet another project in development, this time sniffing around at the Dark Horse graphic-novel adaptation R.I.P.D. The project's in accelerated development at Universal as a starring vehicle for Ryan Reynolds; Schwedtke (Red) was previously linked to the adaptations of the Robert Ludlum novel The Osterman Weekend and the nonfiction tome Shadow Divers. · Speaking of graphic novels, Paramount won the bidding war for the Heavy Metal property Last Man Standing, about a war hero of the future who breaks out of "the worst jail of all time" after a shadowy terrorist cabal frames him. It sounds... expensive. [Deadline]
