Every time a new project gets added to Ryan Reynolds's potential to-do list -- including a Green Lantern sequel, R.I.P.D., and the Denzel Washington thriller Safe House -- Robert Liefeld dies a little death on Twitter. You see, Liefeld the creator of comic-book character Deadpool, the character Reynolds played in X-Men: Wolverine and will hopefully play in a spinoff -- that is, if Liefeld can beg someone to make it.
In between freakouts when a new project is announced with Reynolds in mind ("Good God, it never ends!" he moaned when word of the R.I.P.D. attachment broke), Liefeld is pleading his case as loud as he can:
Good news/bad news, Mr. Liefeld. The bad news is, we somehow doubt that Fox executives are keen on ritual suicide to atone for letting Ryan Reynolds slip through their fingers. The good news, however, is that if Fox's X-Men: First Class does well, we imagine you'll finally get your Deadpool stand-alone movie...it'll just be directed by Simon West and star Taylor Lautner.
