Vaughn would play a traveling salesman-cum-absentee father who sees his life change when his young daughter comes back into the picture. In keeping with recent Hollywood tradition, Chloe Moretz is one of the actresses mentioned to play the daughter. Fans of development hell will remember that Vaughn and Russell almost worked together a few years ago in The H-Man Cometh -- the story of a radio talk show host -- but that never came to fruition. · Rachel Weisz is busy lining up her first Best Actress Oscar. She's in talks to star in The Deep Blue Sea, an adaptation of Terence Rattigan's 1952 play. · J.J. Abrams keeps adding projects to his upcoming slate. He'll produce an adaptation of the graphic novel Boilerplate: History's Mechanical Marvel for Paramount. · Hey, there's that Chloe Moretz again! The ubiquitous youngster is in talks to star in The Rut for director Karyn Kusama, which sounds like a flipped version of Taken: After her father goes missing, the daughter must try to find him. Guess which part Moretz would play? [LAT/24 Frames]

· Your almost friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has lined up his next flick. Josh Hutcherson will star in Detention, an indie-horror comedy with Dane Cook. [Variety]
