This Just In: Free Animal Kingdom Screening Tonight in NYC!

Well, New York, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that you can see the Best Film of 2010 to Date (STV Division), Animal Kingdom, for the low, low price of free at the AMC 34th Street. The bad news: The screening starts in a little more than an hour from right now. Read on for details.

Sorry! I just found out, I swear. If you happened to miss New York's first, Movieline-hosted public screening of David Michôd's blistering Australian crime drama, here's your chance to have a complimentary look in advance of the film's limited release date of Aug. 13. By now you've read the accolades and background; you'll be hearing more here and elsewhere as that date approaches, but you can join the conversation early (and let's face it, pretty cheap) if you can get down to 34th St. and Eight Avenue by 7 p.m. Then, with the money you save, mull the film over next door with some delicious Chipotle. Or I think there's a Quizno's there, too. Whatever. It's really up to you.

Anyway! 7 p.m., AMC 34th Street, first come first serve! No RSVP's or passes required, just your chronically classy moviegoing self. Vamanos!
