· Karl Urban has been offered the title role in the reboot of Judge Dredd. While at Comic-Con promoting the action goof RED, Urban confirmed the interest and let slip a bit of his own fandom: "[He is a] phenomenal iconic comic book character, so it's a world I know and it would be a privilege and a pleasure to be able to bring that to life." · Speaking of the law, the MPAA might have a new sheriff in town. Two months after he was offered the position, former U.S. senator Bob Kerrey is reportedly going to take over the ratings board. "It's a done deal," a "Washington insider" told The Hollywood Reporter. Kerrey would reportedly make $1.2 million to decide how many thrusts are allowed to make an R-Rated sex scene. [THR]
· Universal is going ahead with an adaptation of Todd Harris Goldman's goofy Boys Are Stupid, Throw Rocks at Them, a hastily animated book described as "South Park for girls." Dannah Phirman and Danielle Schneider have been tapped to write the screenplay. Don't get your hopes up however: Their previous credits include Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2. [Variety]

While at Comic-Con promoting the alien invasion film Battle: Los Angeles, star Aaron Eckhart revealed that there could be a sequel to Neil LaBute's In the Company of Men.
