Thought I'd reference a delightful Don McLean lyric before terrifying you with the real "Helter Skelter" special on A&E this evening. Get ready to reacquaint yourself with the first family of crime, the most unfortunate Beach Boy associate of all, and a burgeoning young director named Roman Polanski.
Rookie Blue [ABC, 9 PM]
The crew investigates a break-in at an upscale address. After Traci flees the scene to deal with personal business, Andy squares off against the armed infiltrator by himself. Traci, you dog!
Manson: The Notorious Crime and Trial [A&E, 10 PM]
In case you're looking to be ruined just before bedtime, the story of Sharon Tate's murder (and a whole bunch of other murders) is recounted in this 60-minute special. The subsequent trial is also revisited, so there should be plenty of stills of Charles Manson staring into the camera like he knows there will be a horrifying A&E special about him someday. I dare you to think of The White Album the same way afterward.
Bethenny Getting Married [Bravo, 10 PM]
Bethenny's baby arrives early. Spoiler: She names it Bryn Casey Hoppy. I predict feel-good TV!
The Paper Chase [FMC, 10 PM]
Now, this is the movie version, not the ensuing TV series with the enduring Seals and Crofts theme. Here, first-year law students lose their minds as they angle to rise to the top of their class. John Houseman won an Oscar for his performance as Professor Charles Kingfield, and Lindsay Wagner dazzles you in her pre-TV-movie-queen heyday.
