FBI Arrests 20-Year-Old For Terrorist Threats Against South Park

Three months after a radical Muslim website threatened South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone in response to an episode which portrayed the Prophet Mohammed in a bear costume, FBI officials have made an arrest in the case.

According to The Smoking Gun, the FBI arrested Zachary Chesser, a 20-year-old Virginia man, today after he "spoke at length with agents about his attempts to travel to Kenya and Somalia to join Al-Shabaab and his devotion to jihad which has included his operation of web sites and a You Tube channel stocked with jihadi propaganda."

Chesser, a convert to Islam, was responsible for posting a message on the website revolutionmuslim.com in April that claimed Matt Stone and Trey Parker would "probably end up" like Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered in retaliation for a film critical of the treatment of Islamic women. In response to the threat, Comedy Central heavily censored the April 21 episode of South Park in defiance of the Stone and Parker's wishes.

It gets worse (and weirder): In addition to his arrest, the death threat also cost Chesser his relationship with his mother, who stopped speaking to her son after she began receiving death threats because of her son's comments about South Park. Developing...
