Hollywood Ink: Jude Law is a Hugo Guy

· Jude Law has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese's upcoming Hugo Cabret, whose title has apparently dropped The Invention of from its front end. In any case, Law's not alone: Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Frances de la Tour and Richard Griffiths are also aboard the 3D fantasy adventure, which started shooting Tuesday in London. [THR]

· After playing the outsized title ape in Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong, Andy Serkis is downgrading to a megalomaniac chimp in Rise of the Apes. Serkis's Caesar is the primate who acquires new levels of human intelligence after experiments by James Franco and others go awry. Should be a hoot! [Variety]
