Entourage Casting Bombshell: Seth Rogen Could Have Been Turtle

Just last summer, Seth Rogen found himself in a bizarre public feud with Entourage creator Doug Ellen after an episode of the HBO series in which characters called Rogen's "ugliness... oddly fascinating" and debated whether a man of Rogen's looks could actually score a beauty like Katherine Heigl in real life. Shortly after those remarks, Rogen responded by calling Ellin a "moron" and an "a**hole." Months passed and the feud died down -- until this week, when Ellin revisited the rivalry just in time for the show's seventh season premiere.

In anticipation of this Sunday's season opener, Ellin explained to TV Guide that he had not always hated the Apatowian comedian.

"I'm a fan of Rogen's," Ellin says. "I had seen him in Undeclared, and I said to our casting director, 'There's a Midwestern kind of guy who I think would be funny for this show.' But then we found Jerry [Ferrara, who plays Turtle], so we went that way."

Ellin now acknowledges the storyline was payback. "If he's going to say the show sucks, I'm going to say he's ugly."

Way to heal that wound, Ellin -- by announcing that you originally had plans to cast Rogen as the least attractive member of your series. That will warm Rogen's heart.
