· Kristen Bell is in negotiations to star alongside Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski in Whales, the true story of a 1988-era Greenpeace envoy and a reporter who manage to thaw the Cold War long enough to save some whales trapped below ice. Bell will play a vain rival reporter. [THR]
· Toy Story 3 drew 60 percent of its opening gross from 3D screens, compared to the 71 percent that made up Alice in Wonderland's opening. There can be only one interpretation: 3D is over! [Variety]
· "Meeting with Nancy Reagan inspired dog film," reads a headline in today's Hollywood Reporter. Thank you, Hollywood Reporter. [THR]
· Also from THR: "Strand Releasing has acquired U.S. rights to Sasha, the coming-of-age story of a young man who falls in love with his piano teacher." Of course it did. [THR]
