You might have heard it's Cheer Up Keanu Reeves Day, the culmination of a meme that swept through Facebook, Tumblr, and the rest of the civilized world when a photo of a... well, sad-looking Keanu Reeves and an even sadder sandwich hit the wires. The resulting outpouring of support -- and creative Photoshopping -- is really the best thing we could ever hope for from the Internet.
Reeves's reps don't have much of a sense of humor about the new holiday, denying Time an interview and issuing the statement: "Keanu Reeves would like to thank all of his fans for their concerns regarding his happiness and wants to assure everyone that all is well. This situation is a result of a misinterpretation of a paparazzi shot."
But there's nothing misinterpreted about the well-wishes communicated in revisionist art like the one above or the one below, which are merely a couple of the torrent of goodwill sent Reeves's way. Of course 13,000 Facebook supporters can't be wrong. And they're nice! For once, the Web is nice. You've really accomplished something here, Keanu.
