Hollywood Ink: You Won't Have Brendan Fraser to Kick Around Center of the Earth Anymore

· Brendan Fraser has better things to do than Journey to the Center of the Earth all over again, especially with director Brad Peyton. Reportedly upset with Walden Media and Warner Bros. urge to push forward without the first film's helmer Eric Brevig (who is previously committed to Yogi Bear, which I can't believe I just wrote), Fraser is set to forgo a franchise salary and sit out the sequel to the 2008 hit. It shoots in a few months. Josh Hutcherson, who played Fraser's nephew in the first one, will return as the lead. 3-D, fall 2011, etc. etc. [Deadline]

Ridley Scott has another hilarious pursuit, an intriguing foursome join up for crime's sake, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

· Ridley Scott has been linked to about 12,000 upcoming projects and prospective co-management of MGM with his brother Tony. But it's not enough for the 72-year-old producer-director, who is now said to be acquiring his own 3-D company called Scott Three. Keep in mind as recently as two weeks ago this guy said he couldn't even get around Cannes because of knee replacement. One thing at a time, Ridley, please. [Vulture]

· Aidan Quinn will star in the title role of The Exodus of Charlie Wright, about a billionaire who flees to Mexico when his riches are revealed to have been built on a Ponzi scheme. Mario Van Peebles will co-star as a federal agent who's after him, Luke Goss will play a client who's also after him, and Andy Garcia will play a "a Mexican gangster." Surely a casting controversy about a Cuban taking a Mexican's role can't be far off. [THR]

· Jack London wasn't just a racist literary genius -- he was an action hero! This according to Fox 2000, which is betting on a film adaptation of the graphic novel The Secret Journeys of Jack London. The first installment, The Wild, will be released next March as part of an upcoming series i.e. franchise. [Deadline]
