TV Bites: NBC Executives Banking on Rob Lowe to Lift Parks and Recreation

· As it turns out, Rob Lowe's casting in NBC's Parks and Recreation was not an idea from producers, but the vision of NBC entertainment chief Angela Bromstad, who thinks that the West Wing star could be the show's "Alec Baldwin." NBC brass are hoping that Lowe will help lure female viewers to the show, which currently rates much better among young men than women.
