As James Cameron himself will have you know even if he has to stomp it into your cerebral cortex, Avatar arrives today on DVD and Blu-ray. This calls for a celebration!
Cameron and Co. may say they wanted to release their eco-conscious juggernaut to correspond with Earth Day, but come on. It was either this or 4/20, and we all know what that means. Moreover, even Earth Day's 40th anniversary shivers in the long, blue-tinted shadow of the Biggest Film Ever; timing Avatar's DVD release to recognize an occasion like this is like saying you wanted to time The Proposal's video debut to Administrative Professionals Day. Everyone knows better.
Anyway, the point is that April 22 will never be the same. Oh: and be sure to recycle that plastic wrapper once you've torn it from the case. You know how Cameron can be about insensitive people.
