Oprah Announces New Show That Is Exactly Like Old Show

Remember back in November, when Oprah made a teary announcement that she was leaving the world of daytime syndication...in 18 months? And you choked up because she choked up? And you started to imagine a world where you'd never again be able to tune into sixty minutes of Oprah talking about a completely random subject (Matthew Morrison breakdancing! Chocolate! Porn stars! Funny people! Female suffering! Recovered crack addicts!)? Well, wipe those tears from your eyes, because Oprah has just announced that she will host a show on her Oprah Winfrey Network, the totally predictable format of which will shock you.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new hourlong evening show called Oprah's Next Chapter will air two or three times a week later this year and will again feature a combination of exclusive interviews and field trips around the world:

"She'll have more riveting conversations with the people we all want to hear from, in some very unexpected places...Oprah's getting untethered from the chairs, opening up her world and taking you with her. From the Taj Mahal to her beloved oak tree, the Great Wall to her own teahouse, it's a whole new kind of Oprah show."

Among the other series announced are: Gayle King Live! (not a joke), a televised version of Oprah's friend's talk show, and a Mark Burnett-produced reality show called Your Own Show: Oprah's Search For the Next TV Star, which will help find Oprah's next Dr. Phil or Dr. Oz.

Get excited, people!
