Trash Humpers Are Coming
Good, strange news for Harmony Korine fans: The indie record label Drag City has acquired the filmmaker's latest gutter provocation, Trash Humpers. It's DC's first foray into theatrical distribution after handling DVD's for years, and you can't really fault its motives: "It's not that different from booking a tour -- and there's a lot less gear involved." Leading up to NYFF, my friend and I were trying to find a movie we could agree on to see together, and she soooooo badly wanted to see this with me, but I refused because I can't stand Korine's stuff. After she went to see it she told me I made the right decision.
Thank god, I've already worn my Gummo VHS tape down to the core.
