Hollywood Ink: Anton Yelchin Squares Off With Vampires

· It's an unwritten rule in Hollywood these days that if you want to work steadily, be prepared to work as or work with a vampire. And now it's Anton Yelchin's turn to join the genre madness, diving into negotiations for the remake of 1985's cult hit Fright Night. Yelchin would play the teen who insists to his best friend, his girlfriend and the local, vampire-killing cable-access host that a bloodsucker just moved in next door. If you don't know what happens next, seriously just go rent the original. And with Lars and the Real Girl (and Mr. Woodcock, alas) director Craig Gillespie at the helm, be cautiously optimistic about the remake. [THR]

Justin Timberlake is the latest in a long line to get Benefits, War of the Gods earns a much-needed title change, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

· There's a three-way logjam between projects in development called Friends With Benefits, and the latest news from that pile-up has Justin Timberlake joining the cast of the slow-gestating Screen Gems version. That would go up against the Ashton Kutcher/Natalie Portman comedy set up at Paramount (formerly known as F*ckbuddies) and, more problematically, NBC's own series FWB, which Gems would have a tougher time fighting title-wise. Anyway, they're all about the same obvious thing, leaving the title squabble as perhaps the most intriguing discussion point of all three. [Deadline]

· Speaking of title changes, Relativity Media thought better of War of the Gods for its mythology epic, regrouping with the new name Immortals. It also added John Hurt and Isabel Lucas to the cast. [Variety]

· Rob Corddry will round out the cast of Butter, the Jennifer Garner/Kate Hudson dramedy which yesterday also confirmed Ty Burrell to co-star. [LAT]

· This is just... ugh: Akiva Goldsman and Richard Saperstein are co-producing a remake of the Troma classic The Toxic Avenger. And I quote: "The remake will be mounted as a family-friendly PG-13 action comedy akin to The Mask, which Saperstein worked on when he was a New Line exec." Go to hell, Hollywood, seriously.
