TV Bites: Rosie O'Donnell Taps Producers, Sets Sail For Non-ABC Network

· A few more details have emerged about Rosie O'Donnell's return to the daytime talk-o-sphere. Instead of letting a studio produce the project, O'Donnell will form an independent production company with syndication vets Dick Robertson and Scott Carlin for the venture. And contrary to reports that Rosie might succeed Oprah, entertainment insiders maintain that many ABC stations have already planned to replace Oprah with local programming. Even if they hadn't, the Disney-owned network is reportedly not eager to welcome back O'Donnell, who stirred up The View's pot and veered into controversial political territory during her last few seasons on ABC's Rosie O'Donnell Show. · Once, twice, three times a network series star? Christian Slater has found a pilot to take his mind off of his past two television projects, My Own Worst Enemy and The Forgotten, in Fox's Untitled Adam Goldberg Pilot. The comedy, about a team of twentysomething geniuses who crack security systems, would be the actor's third network gig if it goes to series. [THR]

· Recently appointed Starz president and CEO Chris Albrecht has ordered his first series at the pay-network -- a contemporary retelling of the King Arthur legend called Camelot. The 10-episode project, which is being produced by Oscar-winning producer Graham King and Tudors partners Morgan O'Sullivan and Michael Hirst, will premiere in early 2011. [THR]

· Damages actor Tate Donovan has been cast in ABC's drama pilot No Ordinary Family alongside Michael Chiklis. The project centers on a typical American family led by Jim (Chiklis) that suddenly finds itself with new "abilities." [THR]

· George Lucas will continue to milk his Star Wars franchise with a new animated series about his intergalactic heroes that will target young, toy-hungry audiences. The working title is reportedly -- don't laugh -- Squishies. [Slash Film]
