The Agony and the Ecstasy

You've sprung forward through another week of news and commentary at Movieline, for which your devoted staff sends its thanks over the nonstop squeak of our hamster wheel. We'll slow it down for a few days, if you don't mind, but please do read on for a look at the week's rich, redoubtable results. And have a splendid weekend!

· Another week of diverse, all-star interviewees included Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart, Miley Cyrus, Andy Garcia, Michel Gondry, Michael Shannon, Brett Claywell, Ryan McPartlin, UCB co-founder Matt Walsh, Moment of Truth subjects Don Hahn and Peter Schneider and Verge desingee Badge Dale.

· Well, we know at least one guy who is not the mystery NYC film critic who allegedly plagiarized a review.

· A packed week of Two-Minute Verdicts included Eat, Pray, Love, Please Give, Megamind, The Romantics, The Greatest, Boardwalk Empire, Iron Cross and -- in an unusual literary exception -- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls.

· That Best Actress Oscar Curse struck Kate Winslet and Sandra Bullock with a vengeance.

· Speidi stayed busy with their various cyber-crimefighting, psychic-manager firing duties.

· What a week at American Idol, where we handicapped the top 12 contestants and the judges' dumbest 12 comments. And of course, recaps and recaps.

· And what an even better week for Betty White, who never met a late-night shower skit or dirty old man or a new sitcom she couldn't knock out in in her sleep.

· Oh, Tina Fey. Not. Nice.

· As per custom, we provided everything you ever wanted to know about this week's Lost (but were going to wait for us to ask and answer ourselves).

· RIP, Peter Graves and Fess Parker.
