While 2009 and 2010 both may be considered Year of the Schnickers, 2004 and 2005 certainly weren't for Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi of MTV's Jersey Shore. In high school, Polizzi, along with two others, was charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverages after a several-month investigation found that her classmate was killed in a drunk driving accident after buying and consuming booze at her house party. Michael Truncali left Polizzi's residence with a blood alcohol level of .18 and died after rolling his vehicle on Thanksgiving morning in 2004. In a new interview, Truncali's parents say they don't blame Polizzi for the death of their son, but they intend to speak out to promote a message.
In an interview with RadarOnline, Bill and Michelle Truncali explain their reason for going public their horrifying personal story:
Breaking their five-year silence in an emotional interview with RadarOnline.com at their home, Michelle and Bill Truncali said they were upset that Jersey Shore appears to "glorify" alcohol consumption.
Michelle said she watched two episodes and couldn't take anymore.
She expressed some anger toward Snooki, saying: "She doesn't care about what happened to our son." But later in the interview she took a more conciliatory tone and told RadarOnline.com: "We're not out to trash Nicole. I never blamed her for what happened, she was a 16-year-old (sic). I blame others. I am not looking for those people to get arrested, I just want the truth."
Bill Truncali told RadarOnline.com: "I don't feel like the whole story has come out; that remains our big issue. I want to see the truth come out."
The house party in question occurred at a house owned by Helen Polizzi, Snooki's mother, who was investigated but never charged with a crime. Thus far, the Truncalis do not plan on pursuing a civil case for damages. RadarOnline also cites an unnamed source who claims adults and kids were drinking together at the party, but no charges or confirmations have been made regarding that claim.
