Late Night Highlights: Don Rickles Assaults, Regis Serenades, or Vice Versa

As far as late night host-guest relationships go, Regis Philbin and David Letterman share one of the more underrated bonds in history. The Late Show has tapped the Reege dozens of times over its 17-year span, usually for quiet Friday night episodes. But with zero NBC competition (and the complementary ratings surge) these days, the Reege was upgraded to a prime Thursday night spot. And after all these years, Philbin still delivered one of his most entertaining segments -- but maybe that is because Letterman ignored him the entire night. That clip, as well as the five other highlights you missed last night while crying inside your freshly-organized closets, after the jump.

6. Padding the Banks

Elizabeth Banks promoted her multi-episode arc on 30 Rock by sharing some commercial audition horror stories with David Letterman.

5. Garry Marshall's Good Luck Charm

George Lopez continued his full-stop Valentine's Day campaign by beating a heart-shaped piƱata with Jennifer Garner and then welcoming Garry Marshall's longtime friend Hector Elizondo onstage to reveal just how he came to be in every single one of the director's films.

4. Olympics Art History With Stephen Colbert

In preparation for his trip to Vancouver, the Colbert Report host discussed historic Olympic art with David Ross.

2. Don Rickles In Heat

The only individuals safe from Don Rickles' rapid fire on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson were a few Swedish audience members in the first row. Warning: You will never again will you hear the word 'spider' without shuddering.
