What's On: Burning Down the Dollhouse

Another one of Joss Whedon's viewer-deficient, cult favorites dies tonight with Dollhouse's epic series finale. Star Eliza Dushku already presented the full autopsy to the Los Angeles Times yesterday (poor time slot, not enough advertising, Fox wanted a different show than Whedon had pitched), so let's forget the coulda/shoulda/wouldas and just celebrate Dollhouse's illustrious two-season life in tonight's epic 2020 reunion between Echo (Dushku) and Sierra (Dichen Lachman).

Dollhouse [8 PM, Fox]

If you're a true Whedon fan then you watched the lost "Epitaph 1" episode on the Season 1 DVD and will be prepared for tonight's series finale, "Epitaph 2," which picks up where the first left off, with Rossum losing control of technology, inciting global chaos. Echo and her team swoops in during the year 2020 to hopefully restore order and prevent human extinction.

Caprica [9 PM, Syfy]

Last week, Syfy's Battlestar Galactica spinoff premiered to disappointing numbers, a ratings belly smack that the network attributed to the show's early availability online. So tonight's episode, in which Zoe's (Alessandra Torresani) avatar attempts to inhabit a robot's body, will be the true ratings test. Elsewhere, the Graystones and the Adamas deal with their losses while Lacy (Magda Apanowicz) shares a meal with Sister Clarice (Polly Walker).

Miss America: Behind the Curtain [10 PM, TLC]

Emotionally prepare for Saturday's Miss America pageant by going behind the scenes with What Not to Wear host Clinton Kelly, who will brief you on the contestants, show footage of the preliminary competition leading up to the pageant and reveal which 12 contestants are available for the "America's Choice" crown in this hour-long special.

Groundhog Day [9 PM, TV Land]

With only a few days before Punxsutawney Phil gnaws through our hopes for a short winter, celebrate the non-holiday with this 1993 film (arguably Bill Murray's best work as a grouch). While the film never quite reaches its philosophic potential, it is a fun watch and the last partnership between Murray and his future Ghostbusters III co-star, Harold Ramis.
