· The teaser posters for M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender have been released. (There's one more after the jump. Twist!)

· Guy Ritchie is leaving Lobo in the lurch to focus on a fast-tracked Sherlock Holmes sequel.

· Bill Paxton will sub in for Dennis Quaid in Steven Soderbergh's Knockout.

· Tom Hanks's Playtone is developing a movie based on Mitzi Shore and the LA fixture The Comedy Store. Pauly Shore's so psyched right now!

· Punishing director Gaspar Noe (Irreversible, Into the Void) cried at Avatar. Twice.

And here's that other Airbender poster, featuring Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel:

    I bet Shyamalan is wishing they kept the word "Avatar" in the title right about now.
    DOUBLE TWIST!

  • Avatard says:

    @ The Winchester - They didn't keep the name out by choice. I remember reading articles back in 2006-2007 about legal battles with the name "avatar" James Cameron would not allow them to use it. Dick.

    @Avatard
    The Winchester knows that, hell i think everyone knows already why

  • Ginny says:

    I think what annoys me the most about that legal battle is that "Avatar, The Last Airbender" was around since 2005, long before that movie was announced for both the cartoon and the Avatar movie. James Cameron is just an asshole. :

  • Well Then says:

    Well James Cameron wrote the script calling it Avatar about 10 years ago, so James Cameron is not an asshole at all. Also, his movie was released first. Go ahead and write a script, wait 10 years, make the movie, but JUST before its released, give away your title to someone who came up with it after you, and see how you like it. That doesnt make him an asshole.

    I have been looking forward to this movie ever since my kids turned me onto the cartoon. I hope M. Night just tells the story and doesn't turn it into a...well, M. Night movie.

    Well James Cameron wrote the script "
    Don't you mean James Cameron took the script from Pocahontas and set it in the future.
