Late Night Highlights: Ranking the Leno Wreckage, From Richter's Plea to Kimmel's Epic Send-Up

From the moment Jay Leno welcomed Jimmy Kimmel onto his show last night via satellite, viewers knew it was going to be ugly. Partly because Movieline had tipped them off a few hours earlier, and partly because Kimmel's solemn expression hinted that he was not there to discuss his iPod playlist like the other 10@10 guests. What transpired was a damning evisceration of Leno on Leno's own show. Click through for the clip, along with the rest of last night's after hours wreckage (and shocking Jersey Shore revelations) ranked from least to most entertaining.

5. Fallon's Mustache Wars

No words for what is to follow. Other than: Is this what late night programming is driven to if a host refuses to harp on the newsworthy rumblings at his own network?

4. Jay Leno Struggles To Find Supporters

Jay Leno is in a difficult situation when it comes to his monologues. After all, he is the villain in ConanGate. So who does he attack when nearly everyone else is attacking him? The answer lies in the video below.

3. Conan Continues to Take it To NBC

If you were Conan O'Brien, you'd probably be angry too. Before a dull interview with Rob Lowe, Coco wound up and gut-punched his network with four clips designed for them, the best (and least bitter) two are below.

2. 'The Situation' Realizes the American Dream, via GTL

Movieline would like to interrupt the ConanGate clips with a little Snooki. Chelsea Handler was the latest talk show host to board the Jersey Shore train, welcoming 'The Situation', Snooki and Pauly D. to Chelsea Lately last night. Instead of wasting time on 'The Situation's fitness and tanning regime, Chelsea jumped right into revealing who of the three is bedding who. The answer might surprise you, even more than discovering which Oscar-nominated actor requested to meet the juiced and gelled trio.

1. Jimmy Kimmel Wipes the Floor With Jay Leno

You've got to hand it to ABC's late night figure. It takes one kind of courage to joke about NBC's foul-ups, but an entirely different kind of strength and gall to impersonate Jay Leno for an entire episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. And last night, Kimmel topped his own stunt by convincing Leno producers to allow him to do the 10@10 segment, only to jump in via satellite and skewer Jay Leno to his own face.

[Interesting side note: NBC's video of the 10@10 segment ends after Jimmy Kimmel finishes discussing his Leno impression.]
