Countdown to Sundance: Weighing the Pros and Cons of The Runaways

With the Sundance Film Festival fast approaching, we're launching our Countdown to Sundance, where the Movieline staff (and some special guests) will break down all the notable films and events Park City's got to offer this year. First up for our video dissection: The Runaways, Floria Sigismondi's high-profile band biopic starring Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, and a conspicuous drop of blood. Ever at your service, I offer three things the film has going for it -- and three against.

Kristen Steward took soooooooooooo much abuse from all kind of narrow headed and some Twilight fan as well for playing Jean Jett. Just for cutting her hair short and coloring black ( WHO does that? ) for such a hippie, dead movie , who take role of Jean Jett? I give every credit to this brave ,young and talented actress for standig up to the bigotry of too many.) She was called every possible name and sent out to oaly outcasts by the same people that crowd malls in anticipation of meeting the Twiligt cuties. Bigotry is not dead yet in this country. I hope that Krisen and the whole csat will be somehow redeemed ot the festival.
