· Congratulations to Nick Lachey, who is finally rebounding from his disastrous Nick and Jessica Variety Hour with a hosting gig on NBC's four-day holiday series, Sing-Off. The 98 Degrees alum will play the Ryan Seacrest role, as eight a cappella groups compete for a $100,000 prize. The judging panel will be made up of Ben Folds, Shawn Stockman (Boyz II Men) and a third rotating judge each night. So The Office's resident a cappella vet, Ed Helms, was not available? Regis takes a break, Susan Boyle fulfills her own cable dream, and more TV Bites after the jump.

· Regis Philbin will give his rumored successor plenty off time to rehearse this holiday season when the Live with Regis and Kelly co-host undergoes hip replacement surgery. Phibin hurt his hip a few months ago while taping a Who Wants to be a Millionaire special and has been bringing his pain up regularly on the morning talk show. [USA Today]

· USA Network has renewed its detective comedy Psych for a fifth season. The series, starring James Roday as a fake psychic and Dule Hill as his police consulting partner, will premiere in the summer of 2010, without the help of its obsessive-compulsive lead-in Monk. [Reuters]

· FX is proving to have the fastest reaction time when it comes to snapping up TV rights for recent blockbusters. After acquiring the rights to 2012 two weeks ago, the FX has scored the rights to the four Twilight movies in a package deal with Summit Entertainment that also includes The Hurt Locker and Push. · While Susan Boyle is busy belting out "I Dreamed a Dream" at every stop on her promotional circuit, TV Guide Network is adapting the Britain's Got Talent phenom's story into I Dreamed a Dream: The Susan Boyle Story. The hour-long program will chronicle Boyle's journey from a small rural Scotland village to international stardom, where she has been able to inspire Kathy Geisses worldwide. The special will include (of course) a performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" and interviews with Simon Cowell, Boyle and her friends. [Hollywood Reporter]
