TV Bites: Franco Friday

James Franco's General Hospital arc begins today and in a new interview, the Pineapple Express actor admitted that he had never watched the show before he took the job, saying "I thought it was all about hospitals but actually there's this whole mob thing." Steven Spielberg and Stephen King join forces, Larry King ships his son off to Fox Sports, and more TV Bites after the jump.

· Congratulations to Chance King, the 10 year-old son of legendary CNN interviewer Larry King, for scoring his first hosting gig. The young King will star in FOX Sports Net's upcoming program, Kid Pitch, where he and other kids will discuss baseball and interview Major League Baseball players. [Access Hollywood]

· Steven Spielberg and Stephen King are bringing King's latest supernatural thriller Under the Dome to television. Dreamworks TV has optioned the book, which details the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field descends on a small vacation town in Maine, and hopes to adapt it into a mini-series for cable. · NBC's favorite computer whiz who narrowly avoided cancellation last season, Chuck, will take over the Heroes time slot (Monday at 8 PM EST) when it returns to NBC on January 11. In an additional measure of good will, NBC added six episodes onto the original 13 episode order for Season 3. [Variety]

· Some incentive to tune into this Sunday's American Music Awards: Jennifer Lopez will incorporate a boxing ring, fireworks and on-stage costume changes into her performance while Adam Lambert will make use of leather, chains and handcuffs. [Access Hollywood]
