Following as usual in the conceptual footsteps of the Academy Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Tuesday that its Best Animated Feature category would include five nominees for 2009 as opposed to the usual three. This follows the record 20 submissions for this year's Oscar consideration, which resulted in the Academy's own expansion of the category as well. The prospective competitors all breathed a sigh of relief at their improved chances of losing to Up. [THR]
