Late Night Highlights: Highlander, Blackface, Larry David's DNA Test and Bill Murray Reads

If you missed the maiden voyage of TBS's venture into late night, fear not, because Moveline can sum up the boilerplate Lopez Tonight episode in 10 seconds: "Low Rider" opening song, a few jokes about Lopez's racist abuela or slutty tía, awkward pre-taped or live segment, schtick with a comedian Lopez knows personally, and then, a sometimes-moving musical number. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's take a look at this week's late night moments that were actually worth watching.

Most Reluctant Guest

Like many TBS viewers, Larry David voiced anger, confusion, and regret over his choice to appear on Lopez Tonight, complaining "I'd rather give you a kidney than do this again." Making matters worse, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star agreed to take a DNA test for the show.

Disasters With Animal Segments

A viewer notified Late Night that a Brazilian cockroach from a previous segment had jumped out of its cage on air, unleashing frenzy in the studio audience. The roach was later discovered on set. (Also noteworthy for Jimmy Fallon impression completists: Jason Schwartzman drew out Fallon's Elton John on Storytellers impression.)

Man, I think the world of Bill Murray. He's one of my top 10 favorite entertainers. Still the same though, his behavior was strange on the Late Show, and not in a funny way. I know they were trying to be funny, but man....I hope I'm wrong, but....well, let's just say....
Bill if you're hooked on something man, you've got to get some help. Now!

I watched the clip, and Bill Murray seemed like Bill Murray, to me. He was just doing a comedy skit about a book. The book sounds interesting. Don't know if I'll buy it, but it sounds interesting.

Trust me, Bill wasn't on something. That's just the way you read when you're over 50, without your glasses. I think the bit was funny enough to do....sold more copies for Paul, too. (who was the original choice for George Costanza, by the way.)

As a home-based computing worker, I just need to say that I'm not really ok with your article. Actually, I've already seen many other different classes of products and services that are more helpful and useful than the one you present here. Regards, John.
