Chris Brown to Larry King: This Was Probably the Worst Part of My Life

ChrisBrownCNN.JPG

Last night's much-anticipated episode of Larry King Live featured a bow-tied, so-sawwy Chris Brown answering questions about his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna. He was accompanied by his mother Joyce Hawkins and lawyer Mark Geragos, who chimed in with the frequency of Ken Jennings on Jeopardy. Throughout his interview, Brown said that the media fiasco was "probably" the worst thing ever to happen to him, and that there's no "book" on love, which I feel was his way of administering an emotional beatdown to Dr. John Gray. Video, and more extemporaneous Chris Brown gems, after the jump.

Full quotes from the interview's official transcript:

"I feel like that just there -- there's -- we're young. We're both young. So nobody taught us how to love one another. Nobody taught us a book on how to -- how to control our emotions or our anger. So it's like -- I just -- I'm not -- I'm not trying to fall on the fact that I'm young. I'm just saying it's -- it's just that -- it's a lot of stuff that I wish I could have -- I wish I could have changed that night."

On the pictures showing Brown and Rihanna on jet-skis at P. Diddy's estate after the assault:

"Well, after the incident, it was like a lot of media frenzy. A lot of stuff going on. I mean, with me and her, it was just like -- just wanted to get away and kind of -- I wouldn't say rekindle our relationship but just build that friendship back up that we had lost briefly with because of the two sides. It was sort of like Romeo and Juliet story, like both sides not wanting us to kind of have contact so we just got away and just wanted to -- and that's the main reason I was on the jet ski. I know I got a lot of flack from that and other people were like, well, why is he on a jet ski, why does he just act like he had no care in the world? Because I was rekindling my relationship with my friend."

You see, it's Romeo and Juliet in the end. Like when Romeo beat up Juliet before the Grammys. Friar Lawrence is played by P. Diddy, whose potion has been replaced with a $5,000 Sea-Doo. Kids!

I really wanted chris brown to go to jail for what he did, i was a big fan until he hit the girl i hope he goes away eventually

  • sarah says:

If people can get over Sean Penn beating his wife,we can get over a 19 yr old. This story is getting old to hear about, and it's sad that people still use it for ratings. And he needs to keep quiet about it, with no more interviews about this incident. If he apologized to his ex, his mother and got things worked out with the courts, he doesn't need to explain himself to the public or be the poster boy for some PSA.
It's pretty self evident: don't do what he did, or suffer the consequences of being a felon.

  • K.k says:

I think Chris feels terribly sorry for what he did, i mean its one of those things about love. We feel so attached to the person that sometimes our hands acts faster than our mind. I really like him and i really hope he and Rihanna patch things up get back together again cause they were a great couple.

  • Nichole says:

If my husband was to beat me like what he did to her he would be in prison for YEARS!!!! Who cares if he apologized....HOW DARE HE!!!!
Yes they need to get him off TV he is a terrible role model and a waste of human flesh!

  • dollywould says:

    Whatever you say, Ike.

  • Colander says:

It's going to be pretty hard for this opinion to be generally accepted, because so many people just viscerally hate him for this. I say he should have his shot, but he's going to be an asshole for a long time, like Sean Penn was.

  • Mike says:

I heard that she actually gave him herpes, and if that's true, I really wouldn't blame him for wanting to beat her. Bruises go away eventually, but that disease never will, it's with you for the rest of your life. I never advocated violence against women, but she could have told him about the herpes, but she didn't, so there you go.

  • Jwhite says:

Forgiveness is available to all men. God loves all and forgives all that ask for it and receive Him. He loves you too

  • jullian afful says:

im in luv wit chris brown and will always will
    chris im freee

  • stolidog says:

If Michael Vick can resume his football career, then Chris Brown should be able to resume his "singing" career. That doesn't mean anyone should buy the wifebeater,s records, however, nor watch the dog killer play football.

  • Ch says:

This is all abit boring now......why are we still hearing about it?
He beat her...kinda got away with it.
What ever happened, good and bad.....we're not to comment as we weren't the ones in a relationship.
We need to concerntrate on our own lifes......let them get on with their own.

  • sweetbiscuit says:

Wow. I'm sensing a COTW nomination in here....

  • NWB BROTHER says:

if it was anyboby else they would be in jail right now. you have to take responsibility for your actions.

  • Thimu Silima says:

Im soory Chris youl remain my fan no matter wat

  • stolidog says:

that's how little baby children get abused to death....concentrate on your own life.

  • meme says:

no matter how angry you are you dont lash out especially to the one
    you love.
shame on you chris you came from a volent home so that should be the
reason why you shouldnt be so physical.
say sorry to the world and rhianna

  • stolidog says:

That's AWESOME that Chris is a fan of yours.

  • bess marvin, girl detective says:

who the fuck left the door open to all these illiterate commenters? SETH?!!!

  • Nichole says:

If he was seeking forgiveness so badly I don't think he would have fought his sentencing so badly nor trying to claim not guilty.
We will have to see what becomes of him, but to blame his actions on "not having a book on love or emotions" is the biggest line of garbage I have ever heard. If that truly was the case rapist, murders, pedophiles would all be running free.
He knows he got away with it plain and simple.

  • DJ Quik says:

Have you heard the mouths on some of these sistas from the hood? Damn! And you thought your own mama nagging you was annoying. I would've done the same thing Chris did.

  • Mikey says:

It's sad, because once you've earned this kind of terrible reputation, that's all people will ever think of you. "Oh that guy," they'll say, and then shake their heads, or look away, or spit.
I am, of course, talking about commentators who don't know how to spell, use proper capitalization or punctuation.

  • dollywould says:

    Do you bruise easily?

  • Lowbrow says:

It's like Eastern Europe just gained access to the internet.

  • T says:

Don't make bad jokes like that about Eastern Europe, or anywhere, for that matter. It's just bad, and will result in a cockpunch.
