Paula Abdul Hints at Vegas Variety Show

In the weeks since Paula Abdul tweet-dumped American Idol, she agreed to host VH1's Divas Live and scored a recurring gig as Judge Paula Abdul (seriously) on Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, but our dreams for an all-Paula network program went unanswered. Until last night, when the former Idol judge confirmed another kind of Abdul-spectacular: her very own Las Vegas variety show! Abdul's hazy details after the jump!

At a Lifetime party celebrating Drop Dead Diva last night, Abdul confirmed rumors of a Vegas song and dance show to Access Hollywood: "That will be more... really announced later, when everything's worked [out]."

Last week, the New York Post reported that Abdul is in "serious negotiations" with The Venetian, the Wynn Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Hilton about her own variety show. The article notes that Abdul was in similar talks with the Silverton Hotel in 2006 but the deal allegedly fell through when Abdul complained that two of the hotel's workers caused her to miss an early morning flight.

While Paula refused to say more about her Vegas debut, she also mentioned that she is still considering a guest judge role on So You Think You Can Dance: "I'm a big fan of the show. It's fantastic, and I wouldn't be surprised if I maybe came in and guest judged, but I don't know the details of any of that."

Phil Newkirk: What if we could just bring somebody in while she's recuperating?
Tony Moss: She could be out for a year, Phil.
    Zack Carey: Like who?
Phil Newkirk: Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul.
Zack Carey: Paula Abdul, in my show?
Mr. Karlman: I'm not going to pay those kind of salaries!
Zack Carey: Well, in that case, Mr. Karlman, we do what we do in Vegas.
    Mr. Karlman: What?
    Zack Carey: We gamble.
