So Who Do Terminator's Bankrupt Producers Owe Money To, Anyway?

If you chose all of the above, congrats: The Halcyon Company, the troubled production upstart that owns the rights to the Terminator franchise and that sought bankruptcy protection on Tuesday, reportedly owes millions to lawyers, other producers and above-the-line talent associated with the blockbuster series.

Even Terminator: Salvation's nearly $400 million worldwide gross to date (and that's pre-DVD, cable and broadcast TV) wasn't enough to stabilize the company, which owes unspecified amounts to original Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger and Salvation principals Christian Bale, McG, and script doctor Paul Haggis. A panoply of law firms, studios and other Hollywood insiders are chasing the rest, which the LAT estimated to be as much as $50 million. Good luck with that, gang.

I think this illustrates one of the fundamental problems with the way movies are being made these day.
A film makes $400 million worldwide, and the company goes bankrupt because of that movie.
Hollywood, where cognitive dissonance is born.
