Riot Squad Notified as Bryce Dallas Howard Tapped to Replace Twilight Star

· Bryce Dallas Howard got the call Tuesday to replace one of the Twilight series' myriad villains in the third installment, Eclipse, due in 2010. Summit attributes its replacement of Rachelle Lefevre -- the curly-haired minx who played Bella-stalking, baseball-game-spoiling vampire Victoria in the franchise's first two films -- to scheduling conflicts. Of course. In any case, Bryce, watch yourself; these fans are much less forgiving than the ones who shrugged when you stepped in for Nicole Kidman in the sequel to Dogville.

The Lorax is ready for his close-up, the Wolfman reschedules his own, and more Hollywood Ink after the jump.

· We all know our childhoods will never be safe from Hollywood plundering, but hope for the best from Universal's adaptation of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. The eco-themed, 3-D spectacle is set for a spring 2012 release, and best of all, it's fully animated. That means no Jack Black running around with a bushy, bleached-blond mustache, mugging his way Mike Myers-style through the decimated forest of Truffula trees. Which can only be a good thing. · If you were wondering why Universal didn't bring The Wolfman to Comic-Con this year, now you know: The cash-strapped studio is moving its fall tentpole from this November to Feb. 12, 2010. It's blaming the slow-going visual effects work, which had better be pretty freaking cool for a film that has been in post-production for almost a year already. No rush, gang. [THR]

· Charlize Theron isn't putting all her acting-producing eggs in one big Objectivist basket, hedging her Atlas Shrugged plans with an adaptation of Christopher Buckley's satirical novel Florence of Arabia. [Variety]

· Robert Schwentke has reportedly become the front-runner to direct Red, the forthcoming comic-book adaptation starring Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman. I love this news, if only because I love that a name like "Schwentke" will be on the wagging tongues of fanboys for at least the next two years. Comic-Con 2010 just got that much funner. [THR]
