Movieline

The Geek Shall Inherit the Earth

All roads this week led to San Diego, the globe's temporary nexus for star power, fan power and vibrating-panties power. OK, sorry -- but two out of three isn't bad! At least we have them all represented in Movieline's Week in Review. Have a look after the jump, and enjoy your weekend!

· ZOMG COMIC-CON! There's Johnny Depp! And James Cameron! And the women of Watchmen (sort of)! And glimpses and Avatar and Tron Legacy and... [INHALE]... SHRRIIIEEEEEEKK!!!!!

· Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, Kristen Bell and this year's American Idol finalists helped us revive the classic Movieline feature "My Favorite Scene."

· We sat in as Judd Apatow held forth on sexism and Seth Rogen -- the De Niro to his Scorsese, to hear Apatow tell it. Which of course, at this rate, makes Funny People his New York, New York. But who's counting?

· Controversy flared as Rogen teed off on the "assholes" at Entourage, Megan Fox ran into a little trouble at MySpace and Sundance up-and-comer Elgin James wound up facing a federal extortion rap.

· We got up close and personal with Saffron Burrows, Boaz Yakin, Bree Turner, Girls Next Door executive producer Kevin Burns and the breakout star of the summer, Katherine Heigl's vibrating panties.

· The Vintner's Luck, Mystery Team, I Can Do Bad All By Myself and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland all withstood Movieline's Two-Minute Verdict.

· Sienna Miller admitted that while her performance in G.I. Joe won't dazzle anyone, she's definitely no scrag.

· We parsed Funny People and A Nightmare Elm Street's misadventures in marketing.

· Late-night is a warzone; if you want a career in TV, stick with the Padma Lakshmi pilots.

· You chose Rainn Wilson as the winner of our inaugural Celeb-Twitter Tournament of Champions. But no one was a luckier winner than Daniel Radcliffe's biggest Japanese fan, and if you don't believe me, check the videotape.
