Danny DeVito Explains Motiviation Behind His Own Private Bambi Meets Godzilla

So maybe you've seen the new promotional video making the rounds for Danny DeVito's Blood Factory, a no-budget mill for splattery grindhouse shorts and other horror miscellany. It's embedded after the jump just in case, particularly now that he's enlightened us with a glimpse into what it all means. NSFW is the least of it.

DeVito will officially unveil The Blood Factory this weekend at Comic-Con; the site and five shorts are live now, meanwhile, as is the guiding philosophy that led him to films about incestuous cannibals and the like:

"That trailer was meant to be a calling card, reminiscent of Bambi Meets Godzilla," DeVito said. [...] "Most of the movies are moral tales of revenge, people getting their come-uppance, and some are just bare-faced provocative shockers. I make them and edit them on my Mac, mix them in my studio. We call them `splatter cuts,' these four-to-six minute Grand Guignol, bloody, over-the-top Mario Bava type of movies. Watch the first batch and see if you ever take my call again."

Or just watch the one below. I'm still trying to get the limoncello smell out of my office.
