Seth Rogen Calls Entourage Creator 'Asshole,' 'Moron'

sethrogenasteroids.jpg

In one of its typically late-to-the-game, random cultural broadsides, the writers of Entourage went after Seth Rogen in last night's episode, calling his "ugliness...oddly fascinating" in a debate over whether the actor could land a Katherine Heigl-type in real life. One might assume that the affable Rogen would shrug off the insult with a friendly, Fozzie-ish chuckle, but they don't call where Rogen's at a "fighting weight" for nothing! Behold, his amazing response when asked about the incident for E!'s Daily 10:

"Yeah, those guys are assholes. I actually ran into Matt...Kevin Dillon in a Starbucks. And he's like 'you know, I've got to kind of apologize because apparently the guy who created our show doesn't like you so much.' And I said 'well I have reason to believe because I think [showrunner] Doug Ellin is a moron from all I can understand so it makes sense he doesn't like me.' And I've kind of said some disparaging things about the show. Although in our defense, [producer] Mark Wahlberg called us misogynistic in an interview, so I think they kind of started that...It's on. Luckily I never have and never plan on watching Entourage."

We would eagerly anticipate a rebuttal from Ellin, but we know how foreign the idea of creating conflict is to the writers of Entourage.

Well then, "Entourage" is meeting its mandate - it's at TV show about Hollywood afterall, which is full of douchebags being douchebags.

Seth needs to chill - he should be celebrating the fact he is now a pop culture icon. Has he been insulted on The Simpsons yet?

I have to say that most people miss the obvious about the situation in Knocked Up. Under normal circumstances would a girl like Heigl and a guy like Rogen end up together, probably not. However, if you throw booze and then a baby into the mix then I have to imagine that anyone would try and make it work even if they did end up as just friends. I really don't think Rogen is "ugly" maybe his look is not Hollywood hunk but I like that he doesn't look plastic or fake. I like that he has an air about him that says "this is what I look like and i am ok with that." Confidence is sexy, not plastic surgery and eating disorders. I love Rogen's movies and find Entourage to be nothing more then shallow bullshit that focus way to much on men being douchebags with women who are as shallow as a kiddie swimming pool.

Yes, I forgot, clearly John Waters represents the majority of mainstream cinema.

While I am sick and tired of Ev Psych being used as an excuse for everything, it is possible to believe in both evolution and God.

I think the problem so many people have with this movie is that it's not just one movie--it exists in the context of hundreds of other movies and TV shows about "ugly" (whether actual or imagined) men getting with hot (again actual or imagined) women, whereas the number of movies and shows in which the gender is reversed is much smaller in comparison. For every "She's All That" there are about twenty "Knocked Ups." And it seems to me that this is based on a sort of sense of entitlement men have toward attractive women. I know, it's just a movie, but the media does effect how we think. I'm not one of those people who thinks playing Grand Theft Auto is going to make a bunch of kids kill people, but I don't think it's a stretch to say that seeing sexist stereotypes for your whole life is going to give most people sexist ideals, whether consciously or not.

Uh, it's fucking science. He just stated facts, he didn't try to justify anything.

I think Knocked up was more about social status than Seth's character being a fat, ugly bear of a guy.
You can argue that Heigl is hot and Rogen is not, but if you look at the movie, Seth is out matched on almost every level.
He has no cell phone. He has no career... not even a job and is subsisting on $14K and bong smoke. - Not that there is anything wrong with that. His grand internet business scheme has already been done... and he does not even know this.
I think Seth could get a girl like KH, but not if he's a "loser stoner" ... not saying all stoners are losers, but he definitely was at the start of it. I think Bill Gates did pretty good .... prob lots of other 'loser stoners' or fat geeks.
Anyway, I thought that was half the fun of the movie.

  • Was Bill Gates a "loser stoner"?

I'm not so sure about that. I think the casting revealed a deeper issue with Apatow. Casting for personal reasons, not what's best to engage the audience with the story. Heigl falling physically for say, Jason Segel, only to find out later he's a doper underachiever, would have made a lot more sense.
Don't get me wrong, 'Knocked Up' was funny. But the one problem with the movie was the idea that Heigl would be physically attracted enough to Rogen to take him home from a bar to her sister's house. And that's central to the plot.
And I'm predicting you'll see a repeat of sorts with 'Funny People'. An older comedian would make a lot more sense than Adam Sandler. It's counter-intuitive given Sandler's age and other things he's done. Someone like Chevy Chase or Bill Murray would have made more sense. But...Sandler is personal friends with Apatow.

The writers on Entourage could be the worst of any major show on TV. The writing is simply horrific and embarassingly bad.

    Hey all,
Personally, as a gay man, I think Seth Rogen is very adorable! Very sexy, and that deep voice! I think he's hot, but hey, to each his own, right?

Of course had it been Katherine Heigl rather than Seth saying anything like that she would have been labelled as humorless, ungrateful, a diva or a bitch.

  • Fat Boys Rule says:

Seth is just pissed that his idea for a similar show got rejected by the HBO execs. He's bitter. For a so called comic who makes a living talking smack he sure is being a little vag about this. Entourage is a classic and will go down in history as such. Plus, we all know that none of his characters could have gotten down with any of his leading ladies. That's what makes it appealing.... a regular dude, broke, getting down with a hottie. Seth, I wouldn't mess with Wahlberg and team. They will eat you for lunch. LOL

  • JoeyD says:

I'm still waiting for Seth Rogen to do ANYTHING funny. Seth Rogen is the least talented comic in show business. The only funny movie Seth Rogen has ever been in is SuperBad. Luckily his role was so small he didn't have a chance to ruin that movie too.

  • Delta says:

I agree with Seth. It is a bore to watch a clutch of hollywood sycophants walking around with perpetual hard-ons. It's repulsive how they use the bona fide movie star as a vehicle for their small minded ambitions. Yawwwwwwwwwwwn

  • Wes says:

    Doug Ellin is a douchebag.
