· MTV has gone on a greenlighting orgy. Among the eight shows picked up to series: An untitled sketch comedy show from Jamie Foxx; a reality show from Mark Burnett revolving around Hills supporting vacuum Audrina Patridge; an animated series about bumbling superheroes from Seth Meyers called The Awesomes; Teen Wolf: The Series; and pièce de résistance Hard Times, described as Hung, except with an unpopular 15-year-old as the monster-penis-having protagonist. Coming up in Hollywood Ink: Katherine Heigl chooses Life, Zac Efron stretches, and Heather Graham goes gay for pay.

· Craig Robinson, Heather Graham, Johnny Knoxville and Camilla Belle have signed on to Kevin Spacey's ensemble comedy Father of Invention, in which Spacey plays a modest inventor who goes to prison after making billions. Graham plays his daughter's "lesbian roommate" who sleeps with Spacey's character. That sentence has more team-swapping than the Spurs! [THR]

· As her fate on Grey's Anatomy hangs in the balance, Katherine Heigl has signed on to star in Warners' Life as We Know It, a romance about two "unattached adults" brought together after a mutual friend dies and leaves her young daughter in their shared care. Now that's something you never want to have to hear: "The bad news is your mother is dead. Wait -- you didn't let me tell you the good news! From now on, you're going to be raised by Katherine Heigl!" [Variety]

· Cruel Footloose rebuffer Zac Efron has chosen the project that will help him break out of the pretty-boy-who-sings-and-dances box that has stunted his artistic growth until now: He's signed on to star in an "untitled thriller" for Mandate Pictures, to be written by Mrs. Doubtfire and Hairspray writer Leslie Dixon. Chace Crawford: This is your window. [Variety]

· Fringe has found its new FBI agent: Meghan Markle, whom producers felt most possessed a "deep core belief in the wonders of the universe" and "gigantic breastesses." [THR]

· Daniel Craig is in talks to star in Dream House, about a man who moves his family into a house in a small town haunted by the family murdered there. Jim Sheridan would direct for Morgan Creek. [THR]

    1. Looking at that lineup convinces you that when you think MTV has hit bottom, they start digging. I mean come on, Teen Wolf: The Series?
    2. So, if a lesbian sleeps with Kevin Spacey, she's still a lesbian, and not bisexual? Man, life's complicated.
    3. Didn't her character die? What are they going to do, have a Heigl zombie roaming the halls, chain smoking, and bad mouthing the show?
    4. I always worry when a project gets a green light and it doesn't even have a title. Usually that's the first thing you think up, and if you don't have that, what do you have?
    5. “The wonders of the universe” and “gigantic breastesses,” are in fact one in the same thing.
    6. The scene where he beats the ghosts in a card game is the real kicker.

I imagine that's the story Old No. 7 uses to keep his kids in line.
"Remember kids, if you don't behave and Mommy and I die in a fiery car crash, we're sending you to live with Auntie Katherine..."

You know you've established your brand correctly, when other people are writing the jokes for you.
