Is James Bond Headed to Afghanistan?

The Bond franchise is alive and well, thank you very much, and for proof of that you need look no further than the efforts of the genius frozen dessert technicians who've turned star Daniel Craig's chiseled torso into a delicious, low-fat frozen treat. But where to go with the franchise after 007 braved the hairpin turns of Italian coastal motorways and desert wastelands of Bolivia in Quantum of Solace?

The Guardian reports that the next chapter will likely be set in the southern provinces of Afghanistan, based on a tip that a high-ranking member of England's Foreign Office anti-drug operations was hired as a consultant by Eon Productions, the Broccolis' production banner.

The Broccolis refuse to comment about the top secret plot, but were the action to center there, the agent would be dropped into one of the most perilous places on the planet. Lashkar Gah is the capital of Helmand -- an area responsible for the majority of the world's heroin production -- and diplomats stationed there "live in fortress-like conditions and are only allowed out with teams of bodyguards and bomb-proof vehicles."

Add an Aston Martin chase and a few hot Bond babes -- including the impossibly sexy double-agent Burka Galore, who first makes her appearance emerging from a cliffside cave ringing sand out of her hair -- and we think we've got a threequel!
