How Much Is The Hills Paying Kristin Cavallari?

Be honest: Were it not for that headline, would you recognize the person in this picture? Would you maybe think to yourself, "Hmm, vaguely familiar in a generic way...oh, wait, that was one of the girls from the long-defunct MTV reality show Laguna Beach, Kristin Cavallari, the one who's done virtually nothing since (her 2007, according to Wikipedia: 'Made an appearance in an episode of Three 6 Mafia's reality show Adventures in Hollyhood when she went on a date with rapper Juicy J') and is so, so lucky that Lauren Conrad escaped MTV and left a reality wormhole on The Hills she could wriggle through"?

Well, guess how much she's getting paid to take Conrad's place! (Hint: You won't like it!)

According to Life & Style, Cavallari's raking in an estimated $63,000 per episode, instantly vaulting her to the status of "highest-paid member of The Hills" (it is good that this is taking place while Spencer Pratt is distracted). That phenomenal amount is only $2000 less than Lauren Conrad was making, and well within the range that many series regulars make on scripted shows.

In fact, EW's Michael Ausiello today speculated that actor Brian Austin Green, who has been working for decades, would be loath to turn down an offer of $75,000 per episode from the producers of One Tree Hill. Yes, maybe...or, he could make practically the same amount of money cold-cocking Spencer on national television. Which would be more satisfying?

I'll go out on a limb here and say that's a step up from dating Juicy J.

To be fair, I don't think most of us would have liked anything more than $0.

Not when most of us can't get our own reality show ideas to be picked up by MTV and have to forgo the weekly Mystic Tan in order to be able to afford the newest spring fashions for our purse dogs. In all honesty, she doesn't deserve that kind of cash and yes, I am insanely jealous.

The legendary commentator and friend Brilliant Orange put it best, when he said "Please note that I would assassinate everyone involved in this show for considerably less."
