Emile Hirsch Gets Hamlet-ized

· Having already taken on the Bible and Twilight, Catherine Hardwicke has zeroed in on yet another of the world's great literary masterworks: Hamlet, in which she'll direct Emile Hirsch as Shakespeare's tormented Danish prince. Milk producers Bruce Cohen and Dan Jinks are overseeing the project for Overture Films; Philadelphia scribe Ron Nyswaner will rewrite the Bard. [THR]

· Sorry, Octo-Mom gawkers in the US: Britain has first dibs on the reality show tracking Nadya Suleman and her 14 kids, and they're not sharing. Be patient, though. She and the Octo-Brood are probably only about a few years away from having a whole season of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! all to themselves. [Time]

· Some jokes just make themselves: Brian Grazer has signed on as a co-producer on the big-screen toy adaptation Stretch Armstrong. "(Stretch is) an unconventional kind of superhero with a power that no one would want," Grazer told THR. "It's a story about a guy stretching, if you will, the limits of what is possible to become all that he can be." You don't say. [THR]

· Fox Searchlight announced joint COO's Stephen Gilula and Nancy Utley as its new presidents, a move widely expected since Peter Rice's promotion to to the network side. They celebrated by greenlighting a ripoff of Taken. [Variety, THR]

· Bill Murray's loss may be Jack Nicholson's gain: The latter actor is in talks to join James L. Brooks's upcoming, untitled comedy also starring Paul Rudd. Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson. Murray was to play Rudd's father but reportedly "fell out of touch," which is fine; at least Murray's got his priorities straight. [Variety]
