Friday Night Live

There's something about the Jimmy Kimmel Live vibe that makes it perfect for Friday nights. It could be the easygoing humor or possibly because it's the only show that schedules strong guests for the end of the week ratings dead zone. Eminem brings himself and an entourage of hundreds to Kimmel's Hollywood digs and "Iron Mike" Tyson is on the undercard.

Jimmy Kimmel Live [12:05 AM, ABC]

Guests: Eminem, Mike Tyson. Kimmel has an established relationship with Eminem, so it's not surprising that the rapper chose Jimmy's show for a three-night stand to promote his comeback album. As possibly the best second guest in history, Mike Tyson talks about working with James Toback and knocking out Zack Galifianakis.

Farrah's Story [9 PM, NBC]

In case you needed a reminder that life is full of pain, the Peacock gives us this two-hour special detailing Farrah Fawcett's battle with cancer over the last two and a half years. In addition to Farrah's own video diaries during her treatment, Ryan O'Neal, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith also lend their support. It's cancer, so there's no reason to make fun of this show, but because it's cancer that doesn't mean we have to watch it.

Ace of Cakes [10 PM, Food]

Actor Jorge Garcia invites the the Charm City gang to fly to the Lost set in Hawaii to bake a cake for the show's 100th episode celebration. There probably won't be any Lost-style twists in the hour-long episode, but look for the cake-makers to pretend like their cake has some sort of mystery about it. It's a frickin' cake, OK? The only mystery is whether the crew guys will like it. They're the true arbiters of taste.

Happy Gilmore [8 PM, AMC]

Not sure if this falls in line with AMC's whole "Future of Classic" riff (true classic Caddyshack is at 6 PM), but it still manages to get good laughs 13 years after we drank a bunch of our dad's MGD and saw it twice in a row. Adam Sandler's rageaholic former hockey amateur tears a new one in the golf world and in superstar Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) as he competes to save his granny from a Ben Stiller cameo.
