For those of you keeping the faint flame of hope alive, I've got bad news for you: McG and Michael Bay, those 'bot-fetishizing legends of contemporary film, will not square off in a naked, studio-lot battle for manhood supremacy. The Terminator director confirmed as much in a recent interview with E!, but offered a worthy token in consolation. It concerns another violent showdown -- this one actually in the film, and bearing some strong spoiler potential about Arnold Schwarzenegger's cameo. An explanation is after the jump.
The governor's long-rumored appearance was previously said to be accomplished via CGI, sort of like a ripped, titanium-skulled Benjamin Button on another man's body -- "so he looks just like he did when he walked naked on the streets in 1984," according to E! Alas, he meets the wrong nemesis in Christian Bale's John Conner, who mangles the original Terminator "beyond recognition."
McG will have to take some vicarious solace from that, because he admits he has too much of a package disadvantage for the ultimate face off against Bay. "Now he says he was being ironic," says E!:
"That was lost immediately and people gravitated to two spoiled brat directors think they have big cocks," McG said. "Nothing could be further from the truth. [...] The funny thing is, I have an Irish curse and I think we're all familiar with exactly how [I'm endowed]."
"Irish curse"? So everything we knew about Liam Neeson and Colin Farrell is wrong? Thanks for nothing, McG.
