· Katie Holmes, last seen on Broadway running for her life from several white people in navy blazers, will star in Miramax's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Co-written by Guillermo Del Toro, Dark is based on a 1973 TV movie about "a young, Suri Cruise-type who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and discovers they are sharing the house with devilish creatures." Rupert Murdoch is in a chipper mood, saying, "It is increasingly clear that the worst is over. There are emerging signs in some of our businesses that the days of precipitous decline are done and that revenues are continuing to look healthier." He then turned to his newest golden calf, Adam Lambert, and commanded, "Sing for me. Sing like a heavenly she-demon for your new master!" · Lauren Holly and Rob Lowe will star in a Lifetime movie called Too Late to Say Goodbye. Synopsis: "Jenn and Bobby Corbin (Lowe) seem to have the perfect marriage until Jenn discovers Bobby's affair with a co-worker and hooks up with a mystery man on the Internet. When she is found dead in an apparent suicide, her sister Heather (Holly) sets out to investigate what she believes was a murder." Rob Lowe's career had no comment. [THR]
