MTV Movie Awards Could Raise Child Star Prices on Black Market

The newly democratized MTV Movie Awards has thrown the nominating process out to you, the Hills - watching people, and in doing so righted many of the wrongs perpetrated upon a worthy and unsung Class of '08. Wondering why High School Musical 3: Senior Year was so egregiously underrepresented in the major Oscar categories? Why Anne Hathaway's performance in Bride Wars wasn't deemed worthy enough to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Kate Winslet's finest illiterate-Nazi-pedophiliac work at the SAG Awards? Why the Golden Globes had no "Best WTF Moment" category? Wonder no more: Their time is now, and their fates lie in your tiny voting fingers, still tender from having punched in Kris Allen's dial-Idol number eleventy bazillion times.

Twilight and Slumdog Millionaire are ahead of the pack with seven and six nominations, respectively. The former is poised to capture the all-powerful tween girl voting block; producers have already been warned of their destructive potential, as the very real possibility that they might have stampeded past security and onto the stage to pull out fistfuls of star Robert Pattinson's inhumanly lustrous hair prevented the actor from making an appearance at the Kids' Choice Awards altogether.

Slumdog, meanwhile, arrives having stumbled mightily from its post-Oscars high, sullied by controversy and rumor regarding the well-being of its adorable young stars. Still, this strikes us as one last opportunity to right any perceived wrongs, by having pre-show correspondent Audrina Patridge shove a microphone in young Rubina Ali's face on the blue carpet, and engage the child commodity in the following exchange:

Audrina: So, like -- you were in Slumdog Millionaire?

Rubina: Very correct. I am so humbled to be here among these American luminaries.

Audrina: Is it true your dad tried to sell you on eBay or something?

Rubina: No. I am much loved for. This was not true.

Audrina: Cool. So what movie are you doing next?

Rubina: Fast and Furious 5.

Audrina: Awesome! Back to you, Whitney!

The nominations follow. Find out who wins live, May 31, with Andy Samberg as your spirit-guide:
