In today's Hollywood Ink ... William Hurt jousts ... Boston falls to Leno .... and a Frost befalls Forks, Washington ...

· William Hurt has joined the cast of Ridley Scott's stalled Robin Hood movie. Formerly known as Nottingham, it's since lost its title and central hook of the Sheriff of Sherwood Forest as a CSI-style criminal investigator, and is now simply a "retelling of the origins of the legend's key character." Hurt will play the Earl of Pembroke -- royal confidante, jouster extraordinaire, and capable of performing a masterful rendition of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" on lute. [THR]

· Brad Pitt's production company Plan B has hired Watchmen screenwriter Alex Tse to adapt upcoming graphic novel Battling Boy, about "the son of a god who [rids] the giant, continent-sized city of Monstropolis of a plague of beasts." We first read that as "a plague of breasts," which, when you think about it, is no stranger a premise than one in which Malin Akerman is worked over by a radioactive trio of cloned cobalt appendages. · The Boston NBC affiliate that boldly put their foot down -- saying they'd sooner fill their 10 p.m. slot with local news than subject their viewers to Jay Leno's chirpy punchline delivery five nights per week -- has succumbed to the network's chilling intimidation tactics. A severed peacock head wrapped in newspaper can only mean one thing, and they read it loud and clear. [Variety]

· It's an HBO casting bonanza: The Wonderful Maladys, a comedy pilot about three dysfunctional New York siblings starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, adds the perpetually employed but not-quite-household-name-famous Adam Scott to the cast, and Lake Bell joins the ordered series How to Make It In America. Roll 'em out any time now, guys. The #1 Ladies' Detective Agency isn't exactly blazing a trail through any of our DVRs. [THR]

· Frost/Nixon and The Queen star Michael Sheen joins the cast of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, adding a patina of restrained-docudrama-prestige to the drizzly Monstropolis proceedings. [Variety]
