Brittany Murphy, Selma Blair, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Walker--these past Young Hollywood Award recipients prove that Movieline's Hollywood Life has a knack for picking rising stars. So it's no wonder that this year's new crop of fresh talent was gathered at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles for the Fifth Annual Young Hollywood Awards. Fresh faced beauties like Mandy Moore and Eve and tousled-haired dynamos like William Lee Scott enjoyed the show, which was televised for the first time ever on AMC and peppered with the comedic stylings of host David Alan Grier as well as guests Aisha Tyler and Paul F. Thompkins. There were heartfelt tributes: Sam Rockwell described his Matchstick Men costar Alison Lohman as "one of those actresses that make you want to reach through the screen and hug." Presenter Matthew McConaughey (who had been sexily chewing on a toothpick backstage) teased his bud White Oleander star Cole Hauser that he "didn't think you had to play a pedophile to win anything." Topher Grace dubbed his Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! costar Kate Bosworth the next Julia Roberts ("I felt like Adam Stork from Mystic Pizza" Grace dead-panned), and Ryan Reynolds saved his biggest thank you for his girlfriend, rocker Alanis Morissette. To top the night off, Rob Reiner was deemed Young Hollywood's Dream Director, and Harrison Ford got up to receive his Young Hollywood's Role Model award, which he wryly claimed was "for simply being the oldest man in the room."

The party continued across the street at The Conga Room, where PlayStation 2 hosted a kick-ass bash. Winners, presenters and the rest of the fabulously famous danced the night away, and the presence of screen veterans Jon Voight and Ford proved that youth does not have to be wasted on the young.
