Look out, Heath Ledger. The latest Aussie import prepping to steal hearts this summer is Jesse Spencer. Already a TV star in his n a tine land. 24-year-old Spencer makes his stateside debut as Brittany Murphy's musician boyfriend in August's Uptown Girls. So far, admits Spencer, life in Hollywood has been one cool experience after another. "On my first day of shooting Uptown Girls, I had to be on this bed with eight dancers," he says with a smile. "Right after, I was ringing up my mates at home saying, 'You'll never guess what I just did.'"

KD Aubert has one busy summer ahead of her. While appearing on the big screen in June's Hollywood Homicide with top cops Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, the Louisiana native will be shooting her next flick, a fairy tale-based indie starring Brooke Shields, and touring the '" world as one of the Fantanas, a colorful group of spokeswomen for Farrta soft drinks. With so much going on, Aubert is forced to rely on the patience and understanding of her family and friends. "Sometimes people are like, 'You forgot my birthday,'" she says, "and I'm like, 'Birthday? I forgot what day it is today!'"

Supermodel Devon Aoki, who has posed for LancĂ´me ads and walked Chanel's runway, hopes to prove she's more than just another pretty face with her film debut in June's high-octane 2 Fast 2 Furious. Filming a fueled-up sequel in Miami opposite Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson may not seem like hard work to most, but it was for Aoki: "I had to learn how to drive for this role," the 20-year-old laughs. "I'd never been in the driver's seat before!"

Stepping into the Sowden House, which was designed by Lloyd Wright--son of Frank--is like entering another world. Nestled on a busy street in the Los Feliz district of Los Angeles, the house is part Mayan pyramid, part Southeast Asian temple. With features like a koi pond in the master bathroom, it unites the natural world with architectural splendor to achieve a rarefied sense of harmony and tranquility. The home, built by Wright in 1926 for photographer John Sowden, was newly renovated by the current owner and resident, Xorin Balbes, who is putting it up for sale for a cool $4.4 million.

Pop culture references are about all most young actors in Hollywood can come up with as far as quoting anybody or anything. Outspoken 24-year-old Brit Trent Ford, who stars with Mandy Moore in July's How To Deal, prefers ancient philosophers. "Plato said fine food, fine wine and fine company will take you closer to heaven," he says. "I find that fine company will make even a Big Mac taste pretty good." When Ford does make a pop culture reference, it's not your average nod to a sitcom, either. While raving about his costar Moore, he admits his ideal dinner date would be a tad more up in her years. "Catherine Deneuve would be great--she'd eat her whole meal and then put you in your place."

Not everyone gets a practice run for her wedding day, but Lindsay Sloane was lucky enough to get just that with her role as the blushing bride in May's The In-Laws, a 'remake of the 1979 version with Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks taking the dueling-dad roles that Peter Falk and Alan Arkin made so memorable. Sloane, who is newly engaged, says that doing the wedding farce gave her a chance to find out what she wants for her own nuptials, and the first thing she decided on was the season. "There's nothing like love in the summer," she sighs.
